AfricaCom was launched on Wednesday, 12 July, at an informal, but intimate function held in Rosebank, Johannesburg, South Africa. To mark 14 years since its unveiling, the Cape Town International Convention Centre made a donation of R70,000 to its five Western Cape-based community partners; Ikhaya le Themba, Abalimi Bezekhaya, the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research, Journey of Enrichment, and Mothers Unite.

On Saturday, 3 June 2017, foodies in Cape Town were treated to the ultimate indulgement at the Good Food and Wine Show 2017. From sweets to demonstrable treats and spectacular craft in cake baking, food enthusiasts, young and old, were provided with the ultimate experience.

The launch of the 2017 Good Food & Wine Show was held in true foodie fashion at the Table Bay Hotel. Attendants were treated to Black Insomnia Coffee and a sugar-flower pressing demonstration in which they helped to decorate the rainbow cake they later munched down, all while being introduced to this year's delectable line up.

At least 3,402 men stripped down to their purple Speedos to participate in this year's Hollard Daredevil Run which was held in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Mbombela.
