Says Dukes, “Visitors and travellers across Africa who are familiar with top South African brands may be pleasantly surprised to see Game, Mr Price, Identity and Truworths outlets in Ghana. These are a few examples of Broll's in-roads into African countries.

“Many of the leases that Broll negotiates are for South African retailers - helping to expand markets for South African companies and thereby strengthen our own economy,” adds Dukes.

With Broll's latest project, The Mall of Mauritius, negotiations are advanced with tenants including Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Fruit & Veg City, Woolworths, Truworths, Quicksilver, Billabong and KFC.

In Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, Broll negotiated leases for the 20,000m2 Milimani City development, securing retailers such as Game, Shoprite, Truworths, Identity, Mr Price. In Namibia, Broll negotiated leases with retailers for the 30,000m2 Wernhil Park including Woolworths, Pick n Pay, Jet, C N A, House & Home and Ackermans.

Broll also successfully negotiated leases for the 21,000m2 Accra Mall in Ghana. Retail tenants include Shoprite Supermarket, Game, Silverbird Cinemas, Mr Price, Truworths, Identity, Nike and Puma.

“These detailed assessments rely on quality information, experience and a thorough understanding of the client's requirements, and it's this we strive for,” says Dukes.

Broll's listed property sector clients include Fountainhead, Redefine, Accucap. Large unlisted property clients include Atterbury and Pareto.

Says Dukes, “Our client-centric approach is based on our commitment to establish and build good relationships with all our clients and retailers, regardless of how small or large these clients operations' may be.”

In South Africa, Broll Retail projects include the 45,000m2 Savannah Mall in Polokwane, where the company was responsible for leasing of the redevelopment and expansion. This centre opens in October 2010.

Broll is also responsible for the leasing of the new 15,000m2 community centre at Village Mall at Hartebeespoort and the 25,000m2 redevelopment of The Village at Horizon in Gauteng is another of its successful leasing initiatives.
