    Kenya to host 8th AGOA Forum and Exhibition

    The Government of Kenya, in association with the Government of the United States, will host the 8th US-sub-Saharan African Trade Forum (AGOA Forum) at Kenyatta International Conference Centre from 3 - 6 August, 2009 in Nairobi, Kenya.

    This is an annual event where AGOA-eligible countries and the United States of America meet to review the impact of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), as well as chart new ways forward to take advantage of the opportunities created by the Act.

    Alongside the international trade fair is a planned private sector four-day exhibition which will showcase products and services as well as facilitate business-to-business contact and networking. The AGOA Forum Exhibition 2009 will run from 3rd to 6th August 2009 at the same venue.

    Countries eligible for AGOA and that will be exhibiting among others include; Angola; Benin; Botswana; Burkina Faso; Burundi; Cameroon; Cape Verde; Chad; Comoros; Republic of Congo; Democratic Republic of Congo; Djibouti; Ethiopia; Gabon; The Gambia; Ghana; Guinea; Guinea-Bissau; Kenya; Lesotho; Liberia; Madagascar; Malawi; Mali; Mauritania; Mauritius; Mozambique; Namibia; Niger; Nigeria; Rwanda; Sao Tome and Principe; Senegal; Seychelles; Sierra Leone; South Africa; Swaziland; Tanzania; Togo; Uganda; Zambia.

    The following sectors will be represented; Motor Vehicles, Oil and Gas Field Machinery and Equipment, Oilseeds and Grains, Aircraft and Parts, Construction Machinery, Petroleum and Coal Products, Other General Purpose Machinery, Industrial Chemicals, Navigational, Measuring, Electro-medical and Control Instruments, Ships and Boats, Resin, Synthetic Rubber and Artificial and Synthetic Fibres and Filament, Oil (crude and non-crude), Platinum, Diamonds, Woven and Knit Apparel, Petroleum Gases and Other Gases, Iron and Steel, Ores, Slag, and Ash, Motor Vehicles and Parts, Cocoa and Organic Chemicals.
