Asif Sheikh, A24 Media chief executive, added that the move is aimed at making the A24 Media web portal, www.a24media.com, more navigable for clients. "We have developed a new Buyers Page that will contain, among others; various unique content," Sheikh told the journalists last last week.

    Buyers Page and Free-to-Air portion

Footage on the Buyers Page is meant to provide the company's clients with diverse video content that is representative of events taking place on the African continent. Some of the content on sale for US$200, includes; footage from Aljazeera, CNBC, BBC, and People TV. The company says it has over 2,000 videos from over 40 countries across Africa that clients can pay for instantly while new content streams in every week. But the company has also designed the Free-to-Air portion which will contain footage that is available for free to its clients.

This new initiative is also aimed at encourage citizens from around Africa and the world, using mobile phone and the internet, to give their voice and opinion on otherwise unheard of topics that affect them. "This will also potentially help them earn some revenue from the stories submitted," Sheikh said.
