The two deaths were in the Western Cape, one in a private hospital and on in a state hospital.
The two fatalities were a 28-year-old and a 48-year-old woman. Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde, issued a statement offering condolences to the families.
In addition, South Africa now has "tipped the 1,000 mark".
