The theme of the conference, Transforming Geographical Spread, is aligned to the five-in-five strategy of South African Tourism (SAT) focusing on the accessibility and geographical spread of tourists. This further enhances Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism’s (NMBT) strategy to showcase the destination to industry professionals, decision-makers and media to positively enhance the city as a world-class, affordable and accessible destination.

SATSA Chief Executive Officer, David Frost said: “The Eastern Cape has the product offerings, we are ready to increase visitors to the province through attracting travellers from a larger geographical spread, grow the spend to the product and positively impact the tourism sector contribution to the GDP.”

NMBT CEO, Ms Mandlakazi Skefile said: “Strategising with tourism products on positioning and marketing NMB alongside the province as an accessible and affordable destination that offers tourists an authentic and memorable experiences will result in longer stays and increased spend for the destination.”

Roughly 300 – 350 influential delegates will attend the conference with an increased length of stay as they will be going on pre and post conference tours. NMBT will utilise the opportunity to showcase the cities offerings to conference delegates and familiarise tour operators with the product offerings, as they have the potential to increase inbound tourism to our area.

The conference will commence with a golf day on 23 July alongside other pre-conference activities, as well as an opening food and wine evening. There will be a full-day conference and a hosted dinner on 24 July and another full-day conference on 25 July.
