International PR summit... How to survive crises

The IPRA (International Public Relations Association) Summit 2009 will be held at Merchant Taylor's Hall, City of London on Friday 30 October 2009. This year the annual London summit will focus on how to do PR business in these times of crisis and how to create opportunities when clients are cutting budgets, often beginning with PR.

It will provide an opportunity for communications professionals to exchange ideas, share best practice, debate and network on some of the hottest topics within the global communication industry.

The industry's leading global practitioners, specialists in different disciplines and sectors within the PR arena will address hot topics. Speakers such as Francis Ingham, director general of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and Paul Holmes, president and CEO of The Holmes Group, will debate how to be innovative in using the new communication tools to maximize the results of PR campaigns and the all important ROI (Return on Investment).

GWA

The IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence (GWA) will be awarded to the most outstanding PR campaigns in the world in 2009 at the official GWA ceremony on the evening after the Summit. Awards will be presented to 30 winners in 25 categories - including the special creativity award and three special commendations (ie honourable mentions / runners up).

An international panel of senior practitioners judged entries submitted to the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence competition earlier this year. Each entry is assessed based on its competence in five areas - a statement of the issue; research; planning; execution and evaluation.
