Dow seeks to protect the environment for future generations

With the nature of contaminants changing, new issues that arise around water quality and sustainability are not going to be solved by conventional methods. Karen Dobson, Global Business Director for Mining at Dow Chemical said: "We also want to be part of initiatives and discussions that seek to protect the environment for future generations." It's for these reasons that The Dow Chemical Company will be participating in the African Mining Indaba 2015.

Dobson and Ross McLean, the President of Dow Sub-Saharan Africa, will be leading the company's delegation at the Mining Indaba. They will partake in debates and efforts that ensure mining continues to generate value, not only for shareholders, but also for communities that are affected by mining operations. "We believe that the Africa Mining Indaba should be addressing issues that promote the long-term sustainability of mining and water is one of the critical issues that must be discussed," said McLean.
