Rains disrupts Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Mozambique

According to a News24 report, Limpopo residents were plucked from the roofs of submerged houses and from trees after torrential rain fell at Hoedspruit, where up to 300mm of rain was recorded.

Times Live reports that six people, on a night-time game drive were trapped at a picnic site and had to be airlifted to safety. The water level at Lower Sabi river reached the fence at the camp and, as a result, about 30 people were evacuated from the camp on Wednesday.

According to the Mail & Guardian report, more than 500 people in neighbouring Mozambique also had to be rescued because of widespread flooding in that country.
