Own office for Clansthal Conservancy

Clansthal Conservancy has opened its own office in the Crocworld Conservation Centre near Scottburgh in southern KwaZulu-Natal.

"After ten years of operating without a permanent secretary and premises, we are very pleased," said Rob Crankshaw, the conservancy's chairman. "Having our own office helps us communicate with our members, run our administration more efficiently and manage the many community projects we are involved in, including our conservancy security patrols."

Boost for programme

The office was made available to the conservancy by Crookes Brothers, the public company who founded Crocworld Conservation Centre as part of the company's environmental responsibility programme. "We support Clansthal Conservancy and its environmental conservation programme and are pleased to help," said Phil Barker, financial director of Crookes Brothers.

"This is a wonderful boost for us in our conservation management programme," Crankshaw said. "Crookes Brothers have been amazingly supportive of us over the years. Its an example of how large corporate businesses can work hand in hand with conservation organisations for the betterment of our society."

Clansthal Conservancy won the 2012 Ethekwini Biodiversity Award and are involved in both marine and land-based conservation.
