AfrAsia Bank and Cape Wine Auction raise over R7m for education
The proceeds will be divided between three different charities: The Pebbles Project, MAD Charity, and The Click Foundation. The auction, held in support of educational needs and community upliftment, is aimed at supporting all aspects of education from infant development, technological innovation, through to the provision of a leadership academy and tertiary educational endowments in the Western Cape.

Through the generous amount of money raised at the two-day wine auction, the Mauritian-based boutique investment bank hopes to raise educational standards across the Cape Winelands.
"Establishing a solid foundation for learners is imperative to the success of our economy. We hope that through the generous donations made at the auction, the youth of the Cape Winelands will be able to benefit from the funds raids, enabling them with the skills needed in order to succeed," said James Benoit, CEO and executive director of AfrAsia.
Highlights of the event also included a surprise art cameo by talented artist John Adams, whose live eight minute surprise portrait of Nelson Mandela was then added to the items that were auctioned.
Through the event, AfrAsia hopes to raise awareness and support for education and skills development, not only in the Cape Winelands but throughout South Africa.
