Mango launches scheduled service between Johannesburg and Zanzibar
Low-cost airline Mango has announced its scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Zanzibar.

Flights will initially depart every Tuesday from 21 September between the countries with an additional frequency added later in the year. The Johannesburg Zanzibar schedule operation follows after almost eight months of successful charter operations and is Mango's first expansion beyond South Africa's borders. Launch fares start from R2,880 all inclusive
Zanzibar is a popular holiday destination for South Africans. "The success of the charter operation over the past couple of months served as a litmus test for the scheduled service," says Mango CEO Nico Bezuidenhout. "Zanzibar continues to represent good value to South African travellers and checks every box for a fantastic island holiday. The expectation is that Zanzibar will become a strong route for Mango." Flights to Zanzibar are available through all the airline's distribution channels.
"This will be the first time that South Africans will be able to purchase international flights on their store charge cards," says Bezuidenhout. "Edcon group account holders will be able to purchase flights online and through our call centre with packaged holidays available by the end of the year." Flights to Zanzibar will also be available through travel agents and tour operators. Mango will launch its own holiday packaging service toward the end of the third quarter.
