    Older workers threatened by wage subsidy plan?

    Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan is getting impatient over the delays in implementing the youth wage subsidy and Business Live reports that he wants "all the talk to be converted into action".

    Implementation of the subsidy has been delayed by on going negotiations at the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) amid concerns that older workers will be displaced in favour of younger ones when the youth wage subsidy is implemented.

    Gordhan says his department is examining the way the subsidy has been designed and will amend it to protect older workers from being displaced by youth, and he's getting impatient, reports Fin24.
