Sanral may not be able to pay its debts
Fin24.com says that the South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) may not be able to pay its debts if the toll road system does not go ahead in February as planned.

This would mean that the government would have to make payments on the bonds that Sanral raised as part of the funding for the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Plan that cost R20 billion in its first phase.
According to the Fin24.com report, Sanral's financial director Inge Mulder confirmed that the agency had suspended its monthly bond auction in September as investors wanted clarity on toll policies and implementation.
