Over the next year, the US Mission will open 10 centres throughout South Africa where students can receive free, accurate, and comprehensive information about steps to study at accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States. The advising centers will explain the college application process and help students access US higher education.

“Over 2,000 South African students are currently pursuing higher education in the United States. The US Mission in South Africa is committed to expanding resources for interested students and scholars in the United States, which will lead to jobs and partnerships right here in South Africa,” says US Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa, Lana Marks.

Additionally, from 16 - 20 November 2020, the US Mission in South Africa will offer a full week of educational resources in recognition of International Education Week, featuring virtual engagements with admissions teams at prominent US colleges and universities, discussions about cutting-edge research and trends in international education, and information sessions hosted by US vice consuls on student visas.

Details on the virtual sessions can be found on the US Mission’s Facebook page: https://facebook.com/usembassysa.
