The pride of Namibia will share a stage with the top artists from South Africa, including Juanita du Plessis, Nianell, Stefan Ludik, Kurt Darren, Bok van Blerk, Andriëtte, Arno Jordaan, Nicholis Louw, Jay, Heinz Winckler, Snotkop, Romanz, Ray Dylan, Lianie May, Prime Circle, Mango Groove, Nu Creation, Quentin Prinsloo, Willem Botha and Tiro.

Three stages - two day stages and one large stage for the evening programme - will be set up at the Wanderers Sports Grounds to ensure top-notch entertainment. A special signature session has been organised by the local daily, Republikein.

Plenty to eat and drink

There'll be plenty to eat and drink with a variety of food stalls to suit every taste. At the Checkers boerewors stall, visitors will see how Namibia's top boerewors makers compete for the sought-after Checkers Boerewors Champion title and will also be able to sample the wors. The winner will be chosen at the festival.

The Heart of Windhoek food tasting will be presented by Huisgenoot's food editor Carmen Nieuhaus, Republikein and top cooks from the surrounding area on Friday, 15 October, from 11am to 1.30pm at the Warehouse Theatre. Carmen Niehaus, also compiler of Huisgenoot's Wenresepte books, will chat to Namibia's top cooks about mouthwatering food from the past, such as goat pie, bean stew, oxtail, home-made bread with jam, smoorsnoek, tripe, buttermilk pudding and other delicacies. Visitors will also be able to sample all the dishes. Tickets cost R70 per person and include the tasting, a glass of wine and the latest issue of Huisgenoot with all the recipes.

For bookings call Alta Bredenkamp on +27 (0)61 297 2092 or Glenda Manthe-Grobler on +27 (0)61 297 2009.

Tickets for Friday, 15 October, cost R60 each if your pre-book and R50 at the gates. Pre-booked tickets for Saturday, 16 October, cost R100 and R120 at the gates. A weekend pass costs R140.
