2021 Accountability Music Awards: Online voting open
Voting is now open for the 2021 Accountability Music Awards (AMAs), giving you a chance to select the best voices and lyrical talent that advocates for transparency and accountability from African governments.

Nigerian musician Femi Kuti is one of the finalists for the 2021 Accountability Music Awards.
The Accountability Music Awards, in collaboration with Accountability Lab, the One Campaign, the African Union and Trace Africa, highlight how musicians are using music as a mechanism to speak against corruption, advocate for good governance and heighten the call for accountability for a better future for our continent.
This year’s final nominees, selected from more than 200 nominations from Africans across the continent, include songs by Winky D, Femi Kuti, King Kaka, Ney Wa Mitego and Angelique Kidjo with Yemi Alade.
The public can make their voices heard by voting for “the song that speaks for all of us” on the Accountability Music Awards website by Tuesday, 30 November. The winner will be announced on International Anti-Corruption Day (Thursday, 9 December).
One in Africa executive director Edwin Ikhouria commented: “Through this engagement, we want to celebrate African musicians using their voices and lyrical talent to advocate for transparency and accountability from our governments. We celebrate the nominees who have made it to this stage of the competition and we recognise their contribution to building a better and more positive continent.
“We now hand over the responsibility of choosing the winner to the public and we hope that the public will use this as a chance to make their voice heard."
