Toya Delazy to support Aloe Blacc at Cape Town gig

Aloe Blacc is to do a one-off performance in Cape Town before appearing at OppiKoppi and the support act for the show is to be Toya Delazy.

One of the biggest names in the South African music scene, accompanied by her phenomenal band, Latoya Buthelezi's (aka Toya Delazy) success story is an extraordinary one. From obscure beginnings in the little known eMahlabathini, KwaZulu-Natal, Toya's fame skyrocketed, with her first mega-hit Pump It On and record deal signing with Sony Music Africa in 2011, to her three SAMA awards in 2013. Her poignant smash hit Memoriam was nominated for Music Video of the Year at this year's SAMAs, to join her previous nominations at Channel O and BET. A singer, pianist and dancer, Toya's performance repertoire ranges from delicate, soulful love songs to upbeat rocking electro tunes, songs which many audience members will be familiar with thanks to her widespread airplay all over the African continent.

Aloe Blacc is known for his hit singles: I Need A Dollar, which launched his career in early 2010; and The Man, his first single off his new album "Lift Your Spirit" is a sweetly boastful single that gives a sly nod to Elton John's Your Song and has already climbed to the top 10 on Billboard's Digital Songs chart in early 2014. This talented singer/songwriter combines folk, soul and pop into irresistibly powerful tracks that capture the complexities of human emotion.
