Family Season of Performances festival

The Family Season of Performances is a 10-day festival of theatre for young people and their families, which takes place from 6 to 16 April, 2011, at the Theatre Arts Admin Collective, Observatory, Cape Town.

The season boasts performances that are diverse in language, style and content, such as Shift, an edgy dance piece created by the Young Standard Bank Award winner for dance 2011, Mamela Nyamza, as well as Moving Hands Theatre, an award-winning South Africa-based theatre company that performs almost exclusively in the UK.

Interactive workshop

Besides viewing quality theatre, young audiences can participate in interactive workshop hosted by various theatre companies. Audiences can look forward to exciting workshops that will enable children and young people to explore various artistic skills puppetry, animation as well as clowning workshops.

All theatre productions will take place at Theatre Arts Admin Collective, Cnr Milton Road and Wesley Street, Observatory Church Hall (next to the Observatory Methodist Church).

Tickets are R40 for adults over the age of 12 and R20 for under-12s. Group tickets cost R15 for 30 or more under-12s and going for R35 for a group of 30 and more high schools.
