Boswell Wilkie Circus presents The Pirate Experience
The internationally acclaimed Boswell Wilkie Circus production Pirates will be staged at GrandWest's Grand Arena between 9 and 19 July 2009. Audiences will encounter swashbuckling pirates, musketeers and mermaids all climbing, dangling, swinging and generally flying about with breathtaking agility.
The action takes place aboard a replica of a 17th century tall mast wooden ship, the Jollie Mollie, floating in a moat of water. Creative lighting, sound and special effects will complete the effect. The ship and moat will be constructed in the centre of the Arena and surrounded by audience seating.
A motley crew of seafaring characters will transport children and parents alike into the fantasy world of pirates with sword fights, gun battles, a myriad of somersaults and other high wire trapeze action.
The show comes to South Africa from Bahrain where it attracted a capacity crowd of 25,000 a day during December 2008.
Shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 19h30. Matinees will be performed on Saturday and Sunday at 15h00 and doors open one hour prior to each show. Tickets are available from Computicket.
