Calling all swingers - it's the Mauritius Amateur Golf Festival

Mauritius has upped its game - its golfing game. Paradise greens are calling players across the world. An exclusive, unique playground awaits avid golfers. This event aims to bring together the best of the sporting and the travel worlds for one week (9-15 October 2011) of golfing pleasure.

Guests will enjoy days spent on four of the island's best golf courses and lavish nights spent in two of Mauritius' most prized hotels.

Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita

Designed by Ernie Els, the Four Seasons Golf Club at Anahita is a 6,8km, 18-hole, par-72 championship course with vast fairways and five sets of tees. Six ocean view holes culminate in a final shot that is among the most spectacular in the world.

Built to USGA standards, this golf course is the first of its kind in Mauritius. Carefully woven into the tropical sanctuary, it is set against lush mountain greenery and fringed by the immense crystal-clear lagoon.

Golf du Château

Attached to the Heritage Awali Golf and Spa Resort, this magnificent 18-hole Golf du Château course covers 100 hectares. It is the masterpiece of architect Peter Matkovitch, of Peter Matkovich and Hayes, the well-known South African architectural practice.

Situated between the mountains and the sea, in a rolling landscape dotted with lakes, streams and tropical trees, the par-72 championship course is technically challenging and varied. It's designed to provide golfers with unique possibilities for a game with exceptional moments and memories.

Tamarina Golf Course

The Tamarina Golf Course is situated on Tamarin Bay on the west coast of Mauritius. It is a challenging par-72 course that spans 43 hectares of rugged grassland bordered by established trees. Some of the holes have remarkable views of Mount Rempart and the clear waters of Tamarin Bay. There are excellent practice facilities at Tamarina, including a 300m driving range.

Le Touessrok Golf Course

Le Touessrok Golf Course, one of Bernhard Langer's signature creations, is an 18-hole, par-72 course situated on its own island just opposite Le Touessrok. Ranked by Golf World as the '10th Best Course' worldwide, and having recently been appointed Number One in Golf Magazine International's '100 Finest Things in Golf', it is consider a the sweet spot in the golfing world.

With four sets of tee decks for each hole, the angles of attack and approach vary, making this a very exciting course. Moreover, any golfing adventure beginning with a boat ride across shimmering waters is the start of something special.
