The teams will go head-to-head in search of being crowned the 2013 Engen Knockout Challenge Champions. The challenge will take place from 16-18 August 2013, where qualifying U/17 players will participate under the direction of tournament director Gilbert Kruger.

In celebration of ten years of developing young South African football stars, one player per region from non-professional clubs will be selected and flown up to participate in an Engen sponsored High Performance Programme at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria. During their three day stay at the centre, they will experience what it is like to live the life of a professional footballer.

The dedicated programme will include activities such as sport science training, technical sessions, bleep tests, psychology talks and many other sports related activities that will benefit their growth as talented young footballers. "With a proud and positive history in the beautiful game, Engen is proud and excited to be able to afford five players from around the country with the opportunity to advance their sporting career. We look forward to many more years of competition, development and growth of youth football in the country," said Brad Bergh, Engen sponsorship manager at Engen. Once again, national selector Duncan Crowie along with his technical team will be at every game to evaluate the competition. "We are always excited to attend tournaments of this nature and witness the depth of talent out there," he commented.
