Tickets on sale for L'ormarins Queen's Plate Festival 2017

Tickets for the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate, the annual horse racing event set to take place from 6-7 January at Kenilworth Racecourse, Cape Town, are available via Computicket.

Varied experiences

On Friday 6 January, 500 guests will be first to experience the inaugural LQP Garden Party (R500 per person) complete with bubbles, picnic baskets for groups of two, four, six, and ten, live jazz and access to the racing. In addition guests will also have access to the Style Lounge Village on the inaugural second day of the festival.

The Somerset Room as well as the Kenilworth Jazz Room (R400 per person) will cater for guests who prefer a sit-down, three course luncheon coupled with views of the track and Table Mountain. Guests will also have access to the races and a private bar with toilet and tote facilities.

As is tradition, Saturday’s festivities will include The Style Lounge (R350 per person), which provides access to the Style Lounge Village, where guests can mingle while enjoying horse racing, entertainment, fine Anthonij Rupert wines, L’Ormarins Brut, local food vendors, the after party, tote facilities and parking.

The Paddock Sites (R1,000 per table of 10) is set along the rail in a private covered wind protected area next to the Winner’s Circle and the Chef’s Table (R5,000 per person). Tickets to the Paddock Sites will include a picnic basket, filled with a variety of lunchtime treats including a selection of wines, beers, and spirits. Both these options include access to the races, the after-party as well as the Franschhoek Motor Museum and BMW displays.

Experience LQP’s first Kenilworth Jazz Room (R1,500), which will include exquisite views of the course, live jazz and access to the Style Lounge Village and after party. Tickets will include a three course meal with complimentary selected Anthonij Rupert wines and a full bar. Couples will receive a bottle of Protea wine upon leaving as well as a LQP gift for each guest.

The Somerset Room (R1,300) offers the comfort of the Kenilworth Building, with views of the course and access to the Style Lounge Village and after-party. Guests will be treated to a three course meal, L’Ormarins MCC and a gift bottle of Protea wine per couple upon leaving.

Best Dressed prizes to be won

In addition to horse racing festivities, guests will also experience entertainment, hospitality and culinary offerings while the Best Dressed Competitions will again reward the couple which best represents the traditional LQP white-and-blue. Friday’s Best Dressed Lady and her partner will take home a variety of prizes, and Saturday’s Best Dressed couple will once again be flown to the UK, where they will attend Glorious Goodwood in August 2017.
