Joburg and Cape Town do battle in EFC42 at GrandWest

Johannesburg's Fight Fit Militia and Cape Town's Dragon Power, two of Extreme Fighting Championship's (EFC) rival gyms, go to battle in EFC Africa 42, this Saturday, 8 August, 2015, at GrandWest, Cape Town.

EFC Africa 42 promises thrilling action with the light heavyweight champion Norman 'Chef' Wessels, representing Fight Fit Militia, going head to head with Champion Dalcha, representing Dragon Power.

Belgium also takes on South Africa as Marc Vlieger faces Tumelo Maphutha, and after defeating the EFC lightweight champion five years ago, America's Dave 'Pain Train' Mazany heads back to African shores. This time Sibusiso Mdoko takes him on.

After a year out of competition, Ireland's Henry Fadipe, the former welterweight champion, meets Francois 'Frenchman' Kabulu. Kicking off the main card, Scotland's Danny Henry enters a final test against South Africa's Matt Buirski in a bout to decide who gets the shot at fighting the formidable Boyd Allen.

Tickets to EFC Fight Night, taking place at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, are available at Computicket. The preliminary bouts start at 4.15pm and the main card bouts start at 8pm.

Fans can also catch a glimpse of the athletes the EFC 42 Weigh In before the main event on Friday, 7 August, 2015. EFC 42 Weigh In is a free event where fans can be part of the action and stand a chance to win merchandise and tickets. It takes place at the Market Hall, GrandWest from 2pm to 3pm.
