Nu Metro opens two new screens at Bedford Centre

"These two new cinemas are state-of-the-art, providing the latest digital and 3D technology," said Mark Harris, content executive of Nu Metro Cinemas. General manager of Nu Metro Cinemas, Danie van der Merwe, said: "One of the new screens offers the revolutionary experience of enjoying the latest blockbusters in a family beanbag cinema, from the comfort of one of our deluxe beanbags."
"Ensuring that the cinema experience is even more convenient and satisfying, we have also opened a self-service confectionery counter, and, in the coming months, we will be installing new seating in the rest of the cinema auditoria," he added.
Bedford Centre has a lengthy legacy - two of the cinemas turn 40 this year. After Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Film Trust merged in 1969, they opened Metro 1 & 2 in 1972. Those two cinemas are currently the oldest on the Nu Metro Cinemas circuit. Construction of two new screens started late last year, and the cinemas are now officially open.
