ACT and Nedbank fund more projects
The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) and Nedbank Arts Affinity are pleased to announce ten projects that will receive developmental funding. The ACT Board of Trustees has selected projects nationally from Visual Art, Heritage, Music, Theatre, Dance, Multi-Disciplinary, community and arts education disciplines, to support through the ACT Development Programme during the current funding cycle.
"Supporting such projects not only ensures the development of arts, culture and heritage in South Africa, but it also contributes to social development" says Pieter Jacobs; ACT's chief executive officer.
Beneficiaries of the new funding cycle include:
Nedbank, together with the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT), has proudly supported arts, culture and heritage projects since 1994. The main objective is to provide ongoing support to the development of arts and culture in South Africa.
"South African arts and culture provide a potent force for the promotion and preservation of South African creativity, history and heritage whilst also serving as a platform for job creation. Through the Nedbank Arts Affinity, customers contribute to the growth of the arts and culture industry every time they use their Nedbank products, at no cost to the customer." says Maseda Ratshikuni, Head: Cause Marketing.
Grants are provided through an application process which is reviewed every four months. The programme supports projects aimed at developing the youth and professionals within the arts and culture industry. The programme makes provision for all expressions of art, including but not limited to: craft, dance, music, theatre, literature, visual art and new media.
