Leisure Books goes online, offers to non-members

“For the past 30 years, only members of Leisure Books/Leserskring were able to order books and other products from us. Now we give everyone the opportunity to buy these items from us, although members still enjoy advantages, including discounted prices," says Lana Barnett, CEO of the clubs.

Barnett was commenting on the opening up of the clubs to all, through an online link, which went into test mode on 1 April 2010.

Book Club members continue to get a discount of between 15-20% on selected books, while all other customers will pay the regular price. Non-members are welcome to join the Book Club in the language they prefer and to take advantage of the exclusive member benefits of discounts, regular special offers, sales as well as receiving extra free catalogues offering the latest in local and international music and entertainment product.

The pilot model is designed to appeal primarily to online users and the news of uncapped broadband plays beautifully to the clubs' strategy to increase its online activity. The launch coincides with the clubs' celebration of 30 years in business. Go to www.leserskring.com and www.leisurebooks.com for more information.
