Sascoc to address Arendse's complaint urgently to avoid AGM delay

Arendse has approached the South African Sports Confederation and Olympics Committee (Sascoc) to help resolve the matter. Sascoc chief executive Tubby Reddy confirmed that they have received a complaint from Norman Arendse. Reddy added that the matter was being treated urgently to avoid the AGM being postponed.

"Issues of disputes are always an urgent matter and we would like to make a ruling on the Arendse matter before Saturday. We don't want to see a situation whereby the AGM is forced to be rescheduled." CSA acting president Willie Basson is also worried that the Arendse challenge might throw the AGM into disarray. "I'm not confident at all, however, I hope the matter will go away," Basson said.

The New Age reports that Nominations Committee chairperson, Shawn Christiansen, resigned in protest after Arendse was ruled out last week on the grounds that he had served in cricket administration in the past three years.
