Wide range of digital media topics at Getaway Travel Blog Conference
Cape Town's Hilton Double Tree Upper Eastside Hotel is set to play host to the event where Cape Town Tourism's executive marketing manager, Velma Corcoran, will present a segment on travel trends alongside various invited speakers who include:
- Andre van Kets from the Discover Africa Group on Working with Travel Companies;
- Dave Duarte from Ogilvy Digital Marketing Academy on Rocking your Blog;
- Joseph C Lawrence from Clickshape on Blog design;
- Heidi Ocker from Quirk on Tech talk; and
- Mike Sharman from Retroviral on Monetising your blog
Outgoing Cape Town Tourism CEO, Mariette du Toit-Helmbold, said that last year's conference was highly energetic, engaging and informative, and expects that this year's conference will be equally so: "Both the travel industry and its audience is increasingly moving online and this event provides a wealth of information on how to make the transition into the digital space as a travel writer or as a travel establishment wanting to create a great platform for engaging customers past and future."
Limited tickets are still available at R800 for the general public and R700 for existing Getaway travel blog writers and Cape Town Tourism members. The cost of the ticket also includes lunch, refreshments and prizes on the day.
