Capitec Bank joins Rocking the Daisies with SwapShop
With just over a week before Rocking the Daisies 2012, festival-goers can expect a twist this year with the launch of the Capitec Bank SwapShop. From 5 October (12pm to 8pm) and 6 October (between 10am and 8pm), guests can visit Capitec Bank's SwapShop at the Green Village to score some cool festival stuff from the bands and other festival-goers.

All the stock will be available by swapping rather than spending cash.
Items available from performers include drumsticks, used on the Kings of Leon tour from Shadowclub; CDs from Bloc Party; a shirt worn on stage by Jeremy Loops; a band member from The Plastics, and a pair of sneakers worn for TV appearances by comedian Mamello Mokoena. Swappers can also expect lots of other festival goodies such as inflatables, festival fashion and music related goodies.
How it works:
- Bring along good quality, gently used things you no longer want;
- Get it graded and start swapping;
- Choose items from the different sections 'things to look hot in', 'festival survival equipment', 'pre-owned by a rockstar' or 'space oddities' too add some festival fun;
- No money needed - it's all about going cashless.
Transform old into art
Capitec Bank will also be partnering with a number of Upcyclists to transform old and unwanted materials into works of art. Dollie House duo, Rizqah and Reshaan will use on the spot material to create quilts, cushions and aprons. Two Birds with Some Stones, Stacey Adriaans and Jeanie Hugo Elliot will create quirky jewellery while Ayesha Kamalie of Akliviti will get the drabbest festival outfit looking like it belongs to rock royalty in just a few minutes.
Capitec Bank clients can go cashless at the festival by swiping their Global One cards to pay at the bars and all the stalls at zero transaction fees. For more info follow Capitec bank's SwapShop on Twitter www.twitter.com/swapshopsa.
