Nedbank reintroduces longer banking hours

Nedbank has reintroduced its longer operating hours in 59 of its branches across the country in a pilot phase until the end of April 2011. The bank says its intention is to work towards making this a permanent feature at these branches and to roll out extended banking hours to further branches throughout 2011, in areas where client demand may warrants it.

Its clients are now able to do their banking at these branches from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 3pm on Saturdays.

Making banking more accessible

"The bank recognises the importance of banking that fits within the lifestyles of its clients, rather than the other way round," explains Dave Schwegmann managing executive, branch network for Nedbank Retail. "This is why we are determined to ensure that they not only have access to products and services that enable them to realise their aspirations, but also that these solutions are founded on the principles of accessibility, affordability and absolute service excellence."

As part of this strategic thrust to structure and offer solutions around the specific needs of its clients, the bank has an alliance with Pick n Pay to make many of its banking services available to clients through in-store branches at many Pick n Pay and Boxer stores across South Africa. These outlets offer clients the same operating hours as the stores in which they are located, which means the majority provide banking services between 8am and 6pm daily.
