Erin Burnett broadcasts live from Lagos
CNBC US anchor, Erin Burnett, will be broadcasting her worldwide programmes from the West African business hub in Lagos, on Thursday, 21 May 2009 between 1pm and 4pm CAT. Burnett is anchor of "Street Signs" and co-anchor of "Squawk on the Street" on CNBC.
She will be hosting a number of Nigerian business leaders including:
- Rotimi Oyekanmi: CEO West Africa, Renaissance Group
- William Egby: President Coca Cola South Africa
- Lamido Sanusi: GMD First Bank
- Wale Tinubu Group: CEO Oando
Burnett joined CNBC from Bloomberg Television where she anchored two hours of programming daily. Prior to Bloomberg, Burnett was a vice president at Citigroup, where she built an online financial news network targeted at institutional and retail investors.
She began her career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as an investment-banking analyst focused on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was a member of the team awarded the 2006 Deadline Club Award for Business Reporting.
Burnett holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Williams College in Williamstown, MA.
