AFDA is seeking applications for the position of discipline lecturer in editing. We are looking for a committed individual with industry experience to lecture and support undergraduate and honours students.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Acquire and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the motion picture programme.
- Develop lesson plans and lecture content.
- Deliver lectures and conduct consultations.
- Manage discipline students and ensure all assignments are marked and submitted on time.
- Participate in quality assurance and marketing activities.
- Adaptability to AFDA's curriculum and values.
- Collaboration with teaching staff.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to research independently and manage budgets.
- Loyalty and confidentiality.
- Maturity and honesty.
- Initiative and thoroughness.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to support student development.
- Minimum requirement: honours degree.
- Tertiary education work experience.
- Industry knowledge in film/television.
- Preference given to candidates from designated groups per Employment Equity Act.
