Show profile Hide profileI have worked in a variety of different industries and as a result have a number of different skills both physical and conceptual. In the film industry I worked as a Grip, this involves a lot of heavy lifting, rigging, safety checks and camera work. In this job everything is about team work. I enjoyed the tough nature of the job but unfortunately it is a fickle industry and work is hard to come by. In addition I worked as a water safety specialist in the same industry.
Throughout my time at University I tutored high school students in mostly maths, but science and life science as well.
My most important experience has come from something which has not been a job but a passion. I have served on the Exco at Fish Hoek Surf Lifesaving Club for the past three years and been involved at the club for a total of fourteen years. As Club Captain and then Vice Chairman my responsibilities involved mainly coordination of voluntary duties, coordination of training schedules, liaisons with sponsors (Under Armour), management of social media accounts and most importantly leadership of Fish Hoek Surf as continued National Champions in the sport of Surf Lifesaving. I run team building exercises, head meetings about spirit and motivation and deal with any issues arising with competitors and their interactions.
Most recently I have started as a waiter at Tiger's Milk in Muizenberg.
