I feel my qualifications and skills would prove to be an asset for any company. I find that accepting new challenges and learning new skills are extremely rewarding. Although most of my working experience is within the print, media and design industry, I will not shy away from starting something new. Being exceedingly organised and detail orientated is some of my strong points. I enjoy working with a team, but I am able to work on my own initiative.

EIA Publishing
I have been employed at this company since June 2007 where I started as a Sales Representative. I was soon promoted to Media Coordinator and promoted again to Production Coordinator and Graphic Designer.
My duties included but were not restricted to the following:
- Managing contributors to ensure that deadlines are met
- Conceptualising the pagination for the publications
- Sub-editing and proof-reading
- Managing production with input from contributors
- Design and layout of monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly magazines
- Check and sign-off proofs, and exercise quality control functions
- Ensure deadlines are met timeously
- General administration
- Working within strict deadlines
- Being part of the design team
- Coordinate artwork for advertisements with clients
- Liaise with printers to ensure printing deadlines were met
- Client service and handling of queries
Essence Marketing and Communication
I was employed as Marketing Assistant from April 2004 until February 2007. I was fortunate to learn my design skills at this exciting communications company. As it was a small company only consisting of two people I had hands on experience about the ins and outs of a company. During this time I was involved with the SA Tourism Campaign (Road Show).
My duties included but were not restricted to the following:
- General office administration
- Liaison with clients
- Event planning and functions
- Design and distribution of all SA tourism campaign marketing material, including cold calling, hosting events for 300 people or more at various large companies throughout SA.
- Graphic design of logo's, folders, brochures, business cards, banners, photo touch-ups, etc.
Guppies Swim School
From October 2002 until May 2003 I started a swimming school with my mom. I was responsible for canvassing new swimmers and also taught youngsters from the age of 3 and up. Basic water safety skills as well as stroke correction were implemented. Here I learned to be patient and kind to the swimmers as well as their parents. Although the business was doing excellent I received another opportunity to study in the USA and decided to pursue that avenue.
