Commercial property development company Heartwood Properties has appointed Peter Gent to its board of directors. Gent will serve as an independent, non-executive director to the board and also serve as a member of the audit and risk committee,as well as the investment committee.
Gent is currently an independent management consultant, with FirstRand Empowerment Foundation and the Columba Leadership Trust being some of his clients and he is also a non-executive director of FNB Zambia. He previously held the COO role at the Rand Merchant Bank and various leadership positions at the First National Bank, including head of project and infrastructure finance.
Heartwood Properties CEO John Whall commented on Gent's appointment: "We are very excited that Peter has joined our Board. His extensive background in business and banking makes him invaluable and we welcome his insights."
