5FM lineup: Rob Vember goes daytime, Fix returns

The latest lineup change announced from national radio station 5FM is that, as of 1 April 2012, DJ Rob Vember (@Rob_Vember) is moving from the 7pm-10pm Monday-Thursday slot to the noon-3pm weekday slot, and Kim Schulze (@KimSchulze) will join him to read the news, as well as to continue to head 5FM's CSI initiative, Youngblood5.

The Cape Town-born Vember, who'd been in the night slot for the past three years, promises a "fun, light-hearted and easy-going show".

5FM is also pleased to welcome back a familiar face - Fikile Moeti (@Fixsacious), aka Fix, who returns to the station after a one-and-a-half year break in America to further her studies. Fix will bring her music knowledge and DJing skills to The Saturday Nite Fix (Saturdays, 10pm-1am) and should keep the party going into the early hours of Sunday with the hottest upbeat commercial dance music from all corners of the globe.

    Listeners' playlist

Listeners get to 'own' the playlist on Sundays 10am-2pm with the introduction of Beats By Demand, hosted by Bongi Mbelu. This new show is for people who're passionate about personalising their music.

Listeners can call in to a dedicated Beats By Demand line and leave their requests and dedications, which will get played during the show. Mbelu will also be doing live music requests.

Another highlight should be the last hour of the show, called New 1's@1, where Mbelu will play 'breaking music' -the first time in the week that 5FM listeners will get to hear all the brand new tracks that have been added to the playlist.

5FM (@5FM) will announce more changes next week Thursday 15 March.
