UIF disburses R40bn, July and August claims processed from this week

Said employment and labour minister Thulas Nxesi: “Today we reached that magical figure that we committed to make the lives of workers in the country easier by injecting hard cash into the economy through disbursements to our contributors. We made a commitment of R40bn and I am happy today to say we have kept our promise."
He said outstanding valid claims will be paid as soon as all the information is received, adding that as part of the agreement at NEDLAC, the UIF will start this coming Monday, 17 August, to process the July and August claims while ensuring that the outstanding April and May and June claims are also settled.
The cut-off date for applications for April and May benefits is 15 September.
For more information and to lodge claims, go to the TERS portal.
