Game City, new look, new name

Growthpoint Properties, the owners of Game City Shopping Centre in Greyville Durban, have announced a R15 million makeover to modernise the interior and exterior of the building and improve parking. It will also rename the building ‘City View', given the spectacular 360 degree views of the city from the top of the building.

The revamp, which started in August, is scheduled for completion at the beginning of December, in time for the busy festive season

“Game City's prime location gives this centre immense potential. As owners we are therefore keen to ensure that its potential is maximised through excellent aesthetics and optimal access and that the centre complements the surrounding area,” says Greg Worst, assistant regional manager of Growthpoint Properties, Durban.

The building, which was originally built in 1985 and last upgraded in 1996, will receive numerous exterior and interior enhancements. Exterior changes include modernising the façade, new signage, an extension and reconfiguration of the front parking area, a new entrance canopy, repaved walkways and landscaping.
