ICT entrepreneur acquires majority stake in DKSS

This strategic partnership will see the company becoming a Level 2 B-BBEE service provider under the media, advertising and communication (MAC) sector charter. Level 2 B-BBEE suppliers are recognised as 125% contributors for procurement, in turn, helping their clients claim R1.25 for every R1 spent with Level 2 suppliers.
Deal set to bring new opportunities to the industry
The past two years were extremely difficult for the event industry, and companies such as DKSS faced numerous challenges in an environment that was essentially shut down. Despite their difficulties, the company is now upbeat and focused on the real potential that live, hybrid, digitally broadcast and streamed events present for the future.
With this partnership, the company will now be able to further pivot and leverage off of their digital production services as the live events industry opens up again. It currently offers streaming and hybrid event solutions for events as diverse as AGMs to golf days. DKSS founder CJ de Klerk says “this deal will bring new opportunities and advantages to the multimedia space” and “set the new standard in a very competitive market”.
Tlhoaele, who has a long history of strategically investing and partnering with various businesses in order to drive sustainable growth and to develop opportunities for B-BBEE initiatives, said the “success of this partnership will also see the creation of new jobs in the sector and training opportunities for unemployed youth as part of economic recovery”.
The MAC Sector Code was gazetted in April 2016 as a sector code in terms of Section 9(1) of the B-BBEE Act. The objective of the MAC Sector Code is to give meaningful expression and implementation of the MAC Sector Code by facilitating and expediting the transformation within the industry.
