Tourism Month News South Africa

Dream Hotels & Resorts joins SA Tourism's Sho't Left Travel Week movement

In celebration of Tourism Month this September, Dream Hotels and Resorts will be joining Sho't Left Travel Week, which takes place from 24 to 30 September. The travel week, run by South African Tourism encourages airlines, hotel groups and tour operators to offer generous discounts to give South Africans access to travel, and expand the breadth of South Africa's tourism offering more than ever before.

"Sho’t Left Travel Week is all about encouraging a behaviour of local travel among South Africans. Thousands of international tourists come to South Africa to explore all its diverse tourism offerings, but local travel is often limited to visiting friends and relatives and concentrated in certain parts of the country," says, Sharmila Ragunanan, group marketing manager for Dream Hotels & Resorts.

With this in mind, Dream Hotels and Resorts is offering local travellers up to 30% off during Sho’t Left Travel Week at local properties.

Ragunanan says: "We’re pleased to be involved in showcasing how South Africans can enjoy local travel in an affordable manner and hope our efforts will stimulate local travel to parts of the country in addition to the popular destinations of Durban and Cape Town."

Properties within the Dream Hotels and Resorts’ portfolio that will be participating are:

• Finfoot Lake Reserve

• Blue Marlin Hotel

• Tala Game Reserve

• Jozini Tiger Lodge

• Nibela Lake Lodge

• Piekenierskloof Mountain Resort

• Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa

"It is a widely known fact that domestic tourism is the mainstay of a country’s tourism industry. We want South Africans to take advantage of this opportunity to explore their own country and discover why they don’t need to travel far to experience a truly exceptional holiday," concludes Ragunanan.
