#RecruitmentFocus: New report explores connection between economic activity, unemployment in SA
The CDE has released its new report, Making South Africa more labour intensive, summarising the proceedings of a workshop of experts on the labour market that grappled with the question of why, given the large number of unemployed people, economic activity in South Africa tends to absorb too few people.

While there is no silver bullet, the perverse effects of existing policies are identified and explored, and the report shows that we need to rethink key aspects of labour market regulation and economic policy-making.
