Paleisheuwel PV installation on line ahead of schedule

The first of the two worksites, built by Italian renewable energy company TerniEnergia, will supply 82,5Wp to Eskom as part of South African government's renewable energy procurement programme,

The contractors finished the job in advance of the timeline envisaged by the final contracts for EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and O&M (operation and maintenance) four-year and renewable term, and in compliance with the expected financial results.

The Paleisheuwel Solar Park is spread over an area of 240 hectares, and has employed more than 500 workers in the various functions to install 611,000 photovoltaic panels, with a capacity between 125Wp and 140Wp.

The installation comprises a total of 101,850 structures, using 7m kg of metallic carpentry and 3,000km of electric cables.
