Absa supports Orlando Children's Home

Absa plays a critical role in alleviating the social disparities faced by the Orlando Children's Home. The home was adopted after an extensive search for a non-profit organisation that's needs are specifically in the field of education and early childhood development.
"The future of the country is in the hands of our children. A habitable environment is important in moulding our children to become future leaders. We were touched by the plight of these underprivileged children that we decided to do something to assist them," said Oscar Siziba, Head of Business Banking Gauteng.
The Absa Group's citizenship ambition is to empower the next generation with the skills they need to achieve economic independence and security. The vision, therefore, is to create opportunities for Africa's next generation to become actively and gainfully involved in the economy.
"We believe the only way that we can ensure that we create real solutions, is by creating a better living and learning environment for the underprivileged children of Orlando Children's Home. The orphanage is currently home to approximately 60 children ranging from toddlers in kindergarten right up to teenagers in matric," concluded Siziba.
Absa will support the home through a volunteer programme to raise non-perishable food, clothing and toys for the children.
