Lonmin: 150 management jobs may go
Lonmin said on Thursday (28 February) that about 150 positions - all of them in management levels - are likely to be imposed as part of the review of the platinum miner's operating model and management structure.
"The company is now in consultation with its unions and employees on a proposed new operating structure‚" it said in a statement.
"The operating model review forms part of the broader Lonmin renewal plan announced in October last year and seeks to achieve a sustainable business in an environment characterised by weak global market conditions and high input costs‚" Lonmin said.
