SA firms may 'ride the waves' in emergent MENA economy
SA construction firms could benefit from numerous projects emerging in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) as a result of high oil prices in 2010 and 2011, Business Live says.
Business Live reports South Africa's New Growth Path (NGP) developed under the leadership of Economic Development Minister Ebrahim Patel, expected the local infrastructure programme announced by President Jacob Zuma in his state of the nation address (SONA) on February 9, to trigger a local supplier industry for the manufacture of necessary components.
According to Business Live, local construction firms and manufacturers can ride the wave of the new ventures in the Middle East and North Africa, and benefit from power and water projects that are now in the pipeline.
