Free State says it will pay road contractors
The Free State roads department has agreed in principle to pay several engineering contractors hundreds of millions of rands owed to them for work done according to a report in Monday's Business Report.
According to the Business Report the companies include Wilson Bayly Holmes-Ovcon, Basil Read, Raubex and Sanyati, which have outstanding claims on 23 road rehabilitation contracts. However, the companies will not be paid their money immediately as there are "insufficient funds" in the province to pay them all.
