TNPA's port tariff application 'considerably lower' this year

The TNPA proposes to reduce tariffs for export containerised cargo by 43.21% and imported containers by 14.33%. It also seeks a 15.71% reduction in port fees on motor vehicle exports. At the same time, it asks for a 104% increase in tariffs on bulk coal exports, says Ports and Ships website
The National Ports Regulator goes on its annual roadshow in November and is inviting comment about the tariff application from port users and interested parties. The roadshow visits four nationally representative areas: Durban on 19 November, Johannesburg, on 20 November, Port Elizabeth, on 21 November, Cape Town, on 22 November 2012. Ports and Ships website reports that all meetings start at 9am.
