Sea Point social spot gets a new look

On the sea-front in Sea Point sits a historic hotel, providing a picturesque view of the Atlantic for lovers of sundowners and carefree moments - Winchester Mansions. After a three-month long design transformation, this social hotspot's Harveys Bar and Terrace has opened.
Sea Point social spot gets a new look

Initiated by Cape Town interior design company Origin Interiors, the bar showcases long stretches of comfort in classic black and white colours. Comments Origin Interiors: "We chose the high contrast of black and white to introduce a sophisticated, stylish setting for meetings. The ornate detail in the furniture adds some nostalgia and mimics the hotel's charm, and is perfect for social get-togethers."

Light greys, blues and stone were chosen to enhance the freshness and natural surroundings of the coastline, allowing for a welcoming feeling at any time of day. The look is brighter and energetic but retains its glamour - choose from chic tub stools or cosy comfort seating under attractive pendant chandelier lighting for relaxed get-togethers. The area has it all with sumptuous fabrics and a relaxed atmosphere.

The bar opens onto an airy terrace, a sun-kissed spot that welcomes revellers. Order a cup of coffee, a light snack or a glass of wine and enjoy half an hour of free Wi-Fi. Try the parmesan fries with garlic aioli or for those man-sized appetites, the legendary Winchester Mansions Club sandwich promises to be a deliciously satisfying treat that'll prepare you for a sun-soaked stroll on the boardwalk next to the breakers. It's a great venue for any season and is truly Sea Point's darling.
