Call for schools to enter Rage For Good 2013

G&G Productions, the event production company best known for hosting the 4U Rage Festival, is giving back through an initiative for matric learners: the Rage For Good 2013 Campaign, which aims to find a school that not only supports a charity, but has the best plan to action that support.
Call for schools to enter Rage For Good 2013

The idea for the Rage For Good Campaign was initiated by Will McIntyre, director of the 4U Rage Festival, at G&G Productions and after much planning and many brainstorming ideas the campaign finally came to life. "With the success we have received from 4U Rage over the years it dawned upon us early 2012 that this is now the time to deliver some of the success we have received from the youths back onto the underprivileged."

Giving back to the community

Making scholars more aware of what is happening right on their doorsteps and the concept of giving back to the community is one the main objectives of the campaign as well. "The aim is to give back to the less fortunate scholars by using the fortunate scholars to come up with the initiative and let them see how they can make a difference in society," said McIntyre.

G&G Productions will donate a budget of R50 000 to the chosen school to aid them in achieving their goal of supporting their chosen charity in the best possible way. For the winning school's hard work, dedication and sense of pride for helping the chosen charity, they will be rewarded with 50 regular 4U Rage Festival Passports for either Umhlanga or Ballito to celebrate the end of their high school years. G&G Productions will then choose the next best five submissions and reward them each with R10 000 and 10 regular 4U Rage Festival Passports for Umhlanga or Ballito.

Schools will need to submit the following document to tender for the Rage For Good 2013 support:

  • Page 1: Cover Page.
  • Page 2: History of the charity.
  • Page 3: What the charity is all about.
  • Page 4: Detailed plan to help the charity.
  • Page 5: A detailed budget accounting for the R50 000.
  • Page 6: Execution.
  • Page 7: Communications Plan. (We want South Africa to know what you are doing.)

4U Rage Festival will be the judge of which school has the best plan to spend the R50 000 donation. Once the school is chosen, it will need to action its campaign with the help and guidance of 4U Rage Festival.

All entries need to be submitted to rageforgood@gandgpro.com before Friday, 31 July. The campaign winners will be announced on 9 August, 2013.

Criteria for judgement:

  • Viability of project.
  • Sustainability of project.
  • Number of people supported by project.
  • Number of pupils engaged in project. (We want you and your plan to involve your matrics, your school and the schools around you.)
  • Additional revenue raised over and above the R50 000 from your own initiatives and supporting fundraisers.
  • Materials and consumables. (Blankets, tin food, etc.)

Will McIntyre's message to all the scholars who take part in the project is: "Think outside the box, look at the criteria and deliver something over and above. We are searching for the proposal that will make the biggest difference in helping the underprivileged. We hope to spark some amazing concepts that can be easily duplicated and delivered."
